IAM Japanese ZOOM Seminar
1) Terms of Service
Article 01. Language of Instruction
This ZOOM seminar for learning the Japanese language is conducted entirely in English. Therefore, any English speaker,regardless of nationality, is eligible to participate. The teaching method used in this seminar is registered in Japan as a trademark under the name IAM Japanese (IA method Japanese).
Article 02. Definition
These Terms of Service govern the relationship between IAM Japan (the provider of the seminar) and the individual participant (hereinafter referred to as the "User"). Participation in this ZOOM seminar requires that the User be able to communicate effectively in English.
Article 03. Agreement by Clicking
By clicking the "Agree" button displayed above these Terms of Service, the User indicates their intention to participate in the ZOOM seminar. IAM Japan recognizes this action as formal acceptance of these Terms. Confirmation and further communication will be sent only to Users who have clicked "Agree."
Article 04. Individual Agreement
Each User must agree to these Terms individually. Even when participating as part of a group, every participant is required to click "Agree" separately. All Users participate as individual paying customers.
Article 05. Personal Information
After agreeing to these Terms, the User must accurately complete the Personal Information Form provided by IAM Japan. Providing false or incomplete information may result in denial of participation.
Article 06. Changes to Terms
IAM Japan reserves the right to revise these Terms of Service when necessary due to unavoidable circumstances. Any changes will be announced in advance on the official website. IAM Japan may add, modify, or correct these Terms for reasonable and appropriate purposes.
Article 07. Services Provided
IAM Japan provides Japanese language lessons through live ZOOM sessions. The lessons use the original IAM Japanese method, which is a speaking-oriented approach designed for beginners. This seminar constitutes part of the IAM Japanese Basic Course.
Article 08. Learning Outcomes
The learning results of each User depend on their individual effort and participation. IAM Japan does not guarantee equal results for all Users. However, IAM Japan will make every reasonable effort to provide high-quality instruction.
Article 09. Seminar Schedule
The ZOOM seminar consists of five (5) sessions, each lasting two (2) hours, for a total of ten (10) hours. Each class is limited to a maximum of thirty (30) participants. Dates and times are announced in advance in the seminar schedule.
Article 10. Absence
If a User is absent from a session, the lesson will not be rescheduled individually. The User is responsible for catching up using the textbook or by asking questions in subsequent sessions.
Article 11. Personal ID
A Personal User ID will be issued to each User upon confirmation of payment.
Article 12. ZOOM ID and Passcode
The ZOOM Meeting ID and Passcode will be sent to the User by IAM Japan after registration is completed.
Article 13. Instructor
The seminar is taught by Mr. Etsuro "Boni" Kawamura, developer of the IA method, or by instructors officially certified and approved by him. Certified instructors hold an official certification number, and their name and photo are published on the official website.
Article 14. Seminar Fee
The seminar fee is USD 400. Equivalent amounts in other currencies are accepted based on exchange rates. As of January 2026, this is approximately EUR 350 or JPY 60,000.
Article 15. Textbook
A digital PDF textbook is provided free of charge. After payment is completed, the English-language textbook will be sent to the User by email before the seminar begins.
Article 16. Currency Fluctuation
IAM Japan reserves the right to adjust the seminar fee if there is a significant fluctuation in exchange rates involving USD, EUR, or JPY.
Article 17. Payment Method and Refund Policy
Payment must be made in a single lump sum by credit card. Installment payments are not available. All payments are non-refundable, regardless of reason.
Article 18. Substitution and Batch Change
If the User is unable to attend the seminar, a substitute participant may be appointed at any time prior to the start of the course. If the User cannot attend their assigned batch, they may request to join another batch, subject to availability. The User must notify IAM Japan in advance.
Article 19. Copyright
All copyrights to the textbook belong exclusively to Mr. Etsuro Kawamura as the author. The User may use the textbook for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
Article 20. Violation of Copyright
If a User violates Article 19, IAM Japan reserves the right to deny or terminate the User’s participation without refund.
Article 21. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
If the User claims any disadvantage or loss arising from participation in the seminar, the User must provide clear and verifiable evidence. Even if a claim is deemed valid, IAM Japan’s liability shall not exceed the amount of the seminar fee paid by the User.
Article 22. Rescheduling by IAM Japan
If a session is canceled by IAM Japan due to unavoidable circumstances, a replacement session will be scheduled and announced.
Article 23. Emergency Situations
IAM Japan may temporarily suspend lessons due to emergencies such as earthquakes, tsunamis, severe weather, or other major events in Japan. If a similar emergency occurs in the User’s location and results in absence, a substitute session will be arranged for that User.
If a session is canceled by IAM Japan due to unavoidable circumstances, a replacement session will be scheduled and announced.
2) Privacy Policy
IAM Japan (hereinafter referred to as "we, " "us, " or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in connection with our ZOOM-based Japanese language seminars.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following personal information from users:
Full name
Email address
Nationality
Payment-related information (processed through third-party payment providers)
Any other information voluntarily provided by the user during registration or communications
We do not directly store credit card details.
2. Purpose of Use
We use personal information solely for the following purposes:
Seminar registration and user identification
Communication regarding schedules, ZOOM access, and seminar updates
Distribution of learning materials
Customer support and inquiry responses
Administrative and operational purposes related to the seminar
Personal information will not be used for purposes beyond those stated above without the user’s consent.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. Personal information may be shared only in the following cases:
When required by law or legal process
When necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of IAM Japan, instructors, or users
With trusted service providers (such as payment processors or email services) strictly for operational purposes
4. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
5. ZOOM and Third-Party Services
Our seminars are conducted via ZOOM and may involve other third-party services. Users acknowledge that personal data may be processed in accordance with the privacy policies of those third-party service providers. IAM Japan is not responsible for the privacy practices of external services.
6. User Rights
Users have the right to:
